Principal Product Manager, AI Custom Models

Role overview This principal product manager role leads the strategy for custom AI model offerings within a broader AI-assisted development portfolio. The scope spans vision, roadmap, and cross-functional execution for capabilities that let customers adapt large models to their own data, workflows, and compliance needs. It is a remote position open to candidates in Canada or the United States and carries the influence expected of a principal-level role.

Responsibilities - Own the long-term product vision and roadmap for custom-model capabilities such as fine-tuning, retrieval, and configuration surfaces. - Partner with applied research and engineering to translate model advances into productized, supportable features. - Lead enterprise-grade discovery with design partners and customers to scope pilots, pricing models, and rollout plans. - Define success metrics spanning adoption, model performance, customer outcomes, and operational health. - Mentor other product managers and represent the custom-models area in portfolio-level planning and reviews.

Requirements - Extensive product management experience, including prior principal or equivalent-level scope. - Deep familiarity with AI/ML product concepts such as foundation models, fine-tuning, RAG, evaluation, and inference cost. - Demonstrated ability to lead zero-to-one product work in a technical, enterprise, or developer-tools setting. - Strong written communication skills for strategy documents, executive updates, and customer-facing materials.

Nice to have - Background in software engineering, data science, or applied ML research. - Experience with go-to-market motions for premium AI offerings, including packaging and pricing. - Track record of collaborating with globally distributed research and engineering teams.
