Application Developer Intern (Remote)

Role overview

This remote, six-month internship places a developing engineer inside a corporate Digital, Technology, and Innovation team that supports IT operations and applied research. The intern works alongside developers, analysts, system administrators, and GIS professionals on Agentic AI, web and database development, and helpdesk support. It is a learning-oriented role designed to build hands-on skills across modern cloud, AI, and low-code platforms while contributing to active initiatives.

Responsibilities

- Shadow technology staff on initiatives spanning Agentic AI, application development, helpdesk support, security, and GIS analysis. - Join virtual standups and key project meetings to observe how active initiatives are managed and delivered. - Help troubleshoot and resolve application issues reported by end users. - Build Agentic AI solutions for internal use cases such as IT and cloud operations, alerting and reporting, and human resources workflows. - Develop proficiency in CoPilot Studio and other Agentic AI platforms, as well as Power Platform administration and Azure cloud administration. - Collaborate with developers, GIS specialists, analysts, and system administrators to design and implement technology solutions. - Meet with project managers across multiple contracts to understand scope, deliverables, and customer engagement.

Requirements

- U.S. citizenship. - Current enrollment in, or completion of, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline. - Familiarity with at least one software development language such as Python, Java, or C#. - Working understanding of SQL databases and SQL programming. - Exposure to development environments like Visual Studio or comparable IDEs. - Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. - Attention to detail and the ability to keep documentation and data accurate. - Comfort collaborating in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Nice to have

- Coursework or project experience with AI, large language models, or DevOps practices. - Prior exposure to geospatial information systems, cloud platforms, or helpdesk environments.
