About this role
Role overview Build custom tools and supporting systems that help game teams create, iterate on, and analyze content more efficiently. Working mainly in Unreal Engine with C++, you will translate the needs of disciplines such as design, audio, and visual effects into practical editor and in-game tools, while helping connect gameplay and backend teams on diagnostics and analysis.
Responsibilities - Own the design and implementation of multiple tools and supporting systems, coordinating with stakeholders and production to improve iteration speed. - Develop solutions that support content creation and analysis at scale for audio, visual effects, and design workflows. - Work directly with developers to reduce repetitive manual work and improve their pipelines. - Bridge gameplay and backend engineering on analysis and diagnostic systems. - Playtest with the team, and help identify, triage, and resolve issues that affect game stability or development flow.
Requirements - At least three years of experience building game tools across one or more projects. - Experience creating custom tools through Unreal Editor extension mechanisms. - Familiarity with Wwise or comparable audio middleware. - Experience working with visual effects systems and artists. - Strong communication and collaboration skills, plus the judgment to work independently and seek support when needed.
Nice to have - Experience on a released multiplayer game built with Unreal Engine. - Ownership of significant tool or engine systems, including their design decisions and implementation. - Experience profiling and optimizing gameplay, engine, or infrastructure systems for large content workloads.
Benefits and work setup - The studio is fully remote across North American time zones. Listed benefits include stock options, health coverage, disability and life insurance, retirement contributions, and paid parental leave; availability may vary by location and employment arrangement.
