Field Service Engineer - Remote

Role overview

Join a hardware and additive manufacturing team as a remote Field Service Engineer covering the DACH region and beyond. The role centers on being the primary technical contact for customers across the full on-site lifecycle, including installing, commissioning, training users on, and repairing professional 3D printing systems. Expect heavy travel, typically 80% or more of the time, with most work performed directly at customer sites.

Responsibilities

- Travel to customer locations to unbox, install, commission, and calibrate new 3D printing equipment. - Lead structured on-site training sessions covering machine operation, software, and basic maintenance for new and existing users. - Deliver live product demonstrations that build customer confidence in the technology. - Respond rapidly to downtime incidents, including short-notice deployments for urgent repairs. - Plan and execute preventative maintenance visits, servicing warrantied customers within target response windows. - Diagnose electromechanical issues independently and aim for single-visit resolutions to minimize customer downtime. - Manage a complex personal travel schedule (flights, trains, hotels, rental cars) and submit timely expense reports. - Maintain meticulous records of installations, trainings, and repairs in a CRM platform such as Salesforce.

Requirements

- Based in Munich or within roughly a 45-minute drive, due to hub connectivity. - Energized by extensive travel and willing to be on the road 80%+ of the time. - Strong electromechanical or hardware background combined with the soft skills needed to teach others. - Fluent in German and English, both at C1 level, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly. - Valid driver's license.
