Role overview
This is a remote-based field service engineering role supporting customers across the DACH region, with extensive on-site travel (80% or more). The position owns the full on-site customer lifecycle for professional 3D printing systems, from initial installation and commissioning through user training and ongoing repair support.
Responsibilities
- Travel to customer locations to unpack, install, commission, and calibrate professional 3D printing systems - Lead structured on-site training sessions covering machine operation, software tools, and routine maintenance - Deliver live product demonstrations that build customer confidence in the technology - Respond rapidly to downtime incidents, often on short notice, to perform urgent repairs - Plan and execute scheduled preventative maintenance within a 90-day target window for warrantied customers - Diagnose electromechanical problems and aim to resolve issues in a single visit - Independently manage complex travel logistics (flights, trains, hotels, rental cars) and submit expenses on time - Keep accurate records of installations, training sessions, and repairs in a CRM system
Requirements
- Home base in Frankfurt, Berlin, or Munich (preferred for hub connectivity) - Comfort with extensive travel, 80%+ of the time - Strong electromechanical or hardware technical background - Clear communication skills and the ability to teach technical concepts to non-experts - C1-level fluency in both German and English - Valid driver's license
