Remote job
Graphics and 3D Engineer (three.js, WebGL, geometry)
Job details
About this role
Role overview Improve the speed and accuracy of browser-based 3D views and the geometry behind floor plans. The work turns two-dimensional plan data into 3D elements such as walls, openings, floors, stairs, and roofs, while keeping rendering efficient on everyday devices.
Responsibilities - Build and optimize a 3D interface using three.js and react-three-fiber, including mesh merging, instancing, and object picking. - Convert plan data into robust solid geometry for architectural features. - Measure and control frame times and memory use on laptops and phones. - Develop 2D plan geometry in TypeScript, including snapping, room detection, and polygon operations. - Add tests for geometric behavior and benchmarks to detect performance regressions.
Requirements - Experience shipping real-time 3D applications in the browser with three.js or WebGL. - Strong computational geometry skills, including polygons, triangulation, and reliable intersection handling. - Strong TypeScript skills and understanding of rendering performance, GPU memory, and browser long tasks. - Comfortable using GPU and browser profiling tools.
Nice to have - Experience with WebGPU, CAD, BIM, or architectural visualization. - Knowledge of shaders, post-processing, web workers, or WebAssembly.
Benefits and work setup - Full-time engineering role, remote in India, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Australia, Singapore, or the United Arab Emirates.
