Role overview
A senior analytics engineer is needed to join a maturing data and analytics team that is shaping the next generation of its data platform and product. The role operates at the intersection of analytics, data science, AI, and data activation, translating ambiguous business problems into scalable technical solutions. The right person connects technical work to measurable business impact and drives projects independently from idea through implementation and adoption.
Responsibilities
- Identify and pitch high-value opportunities where data, analytics, or automation can improve business outcomes. - Own projects from problem definition through implementation, adoption, and impact measurement. - Partner directly with stakeholders to understand goals, challenge assumptions, and shape solutions to ambiguous problems. - Build scalable, production-quality data models in dbt. - Design reusable data foundations and semantic-layer capabilities supporting BI, operational workflows, ML, and AI use cases. - Improve data quality, consistency, and usability through strong modeling, testing, documentation, and metric governance. - Help raise the team's technical and analytical bar through thoughtful design and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience solving complex business problems with data in analytics engineering, data engineering, data science, analytics, or a similar role. - A track record of independently identifying opportunities and owning projects from idea through delivery and adoption. - Experience partnering directly with business stakeholders and influencing both what should be built and how problems should be approached. - Excellent SQL skills and proficiency with Python. - Extensive experience with dbt and Snowflake, including building clean, reusable data models that enable self-service analytics. - Experience governing and building dashboards in BI tools, and working with semantic layers or governed metric definitions.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with predictive modeling and machine learning concepts. - Experience with reverse ETL and data activation. - Experience with front-end development or building user-facing applications.
