Lead Data Engineer

Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end data engineering projects, including scope definition, goal-setting, and timely delivery across cross-functional teams - Partner with business stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into data-driven solutions and data quality improvements - Design and operate modern data architectures, including scalable data processing pipelines that address complex business problems - Collaborate with data scientists to productionize models in scalable, maintainable implementations - Write clean, test-driven code and apply continuous delivery practices to deploy and support data pipelines - Advise clients on selecting distributed storage and computing technologies from a broad landscape of options - Apply data modeling techniques and implement them using the appropriate technology stack - Embed data governance, security, privacy, and quality practices throughout day-to-day delivery

Requirements

- Proven experience leading the system design and implementation of technical data solutions - Hands-on experience building Big Data architectures, distributed data pipelines, and storage systems in production environments - Deep understanding of data modeling and modern data engineering tools and platforms - Strong coding skills with the ability to write clean, high-quality production code - Experience deploying large-scale data pipelines using distributed storage and processing platforms - Familiarity with multiple database paradigms, such as SQL, NoSQL, data lakes, and schema design - Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to liaise between clients and internal teams - Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and coaching experience

Nice to have

- Experience with data visualization techniques and communicating insights to varied audiences - Track record of cultivating strong client partnerships and identifying new opportunities - Comfort navigating ambiguity and managing risk or conflict constructively
