Remote job
Solutions Engineer - Defence & Geospatial AI (m/f)
Job details
About this role
Role overview
Take technical customer problems from initial discovery through prototype, field deployment, and validation, with a focus on defence and geospatial AI. You’ll work directly with customers, operators, hardware partners, and integrators to uncover the underlying need, define a workable solution, and build an initial implementation. Field findings then inform product direction and support technical proposals and tenders.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discussions with defence and civil customers, hardware partners, and integrators to clarify needs, constraints, and success criteria. - Turn ambiguous requests into specifications and acceptance criteria that engineering teams can act on. - Build end-to-end prototypes, including processing workflows, AI model applications, sensor or partner integrations, data products, and demonstrations. - Use Python as a primary development tool and work elsewhere in the stack as required. - Deploy solutions in field exercises, trials, and customer environments, including offline or air-gapped settings. - Check whether results are technically sound and operationally useful; relay field learning to product teams and contribute to proposals or tenders.
Requirements
- Ability to understand a customer’s underlying problem and translate it into a clear, testable technical plan. - Practical software development skills, particularly in Python, with the ability to build working prototypes across relevant parts of a solution. - Sound judgment when evaluating the accuracy and usefulness of technical outputs. - Comfort working directly with customers and technical partners, then communicating findings clearly to engineering and product teams. - Willingness to work in field settings and adapt solutions to constrained environments, including offline deployments.
Benefits and work setup
- Full-time, remote position based in Europe. - Direct collaboration with the CTO and ownership of a substantial share of technical customer work and use-case development.
