About this role
Role overview
A senior Software Development Engineer in Test is needed to drive quality for an Immigration AI platform used by immigration practices to prepare and manage client cases. This is a backend-leaning, tooling-heavy role focused on solving hard testing problems across systems that resist conventional UI-driven automation, including asynchronous and event-driven services.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as a software engineer or test automation engineer - Expert-level proficiency in an object-oriented language such as C# or Java - Complete understanding of the application development lifecycle and the software testing lifecycle - Demonstrated expertise testing REST web services and backend-heavy services with little or no UI surface - Ability to design custom test tooling and harnesses for asynchronous and event-driven systems - Experience with stress and load testing tools and techniques - Expert understanding of stubbing, mocking, source control systems, and CI/CD pipelines - Practical experience applying generative AI or large language models to testing and engineering productivity problems - Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or a related field, comparable certifications, or equivalent direct work experience
Nice to have
- Experience integrating AI-driven analysis into test pipelines to detect regressions or generate cases from production behavior
Benefits and work setup
