Job details
About this role
Role overview Lead design for complex financial products, primarily across investing, lending, borrowing, and digital asset experiences. This senior individual contributor role combines strategic product thinking with detailed interaction design: you’ll turn ambiguous requirements, technical constraints, and regulatory needs into clear end-to-end journeys, while raising design quality across teams and mentoring peers.
Responsibilities - Lead design for major product initiatives and contribute to shared experiences across related financial products. - Shape incomplete requirements into coherent workflows, identifying dependencies, missing logic, edge cases, and downstream effects. - Partner with product and engineering teams from problem definition through implementation, helping determine the right experience and requirements. - Design detailed account, transaction, permissions, and data-rich interfaces, including error states and lifecycle changes. - Explore alternatives, communicate tradeoffs, and use research, customer feedback, product data, and domain knowledge to inform decisions. - Create prototypes and polished designs, contribute reusable design patterns, and support implementation quality. - Mentor designers and help teams improve how they approach difficult product problems.
Requirements - The supplied source emphasizes principal-level individual contribution and leadership across complex, ambiguous design work; it does not include a complete formal qualifications list. - Ability to make sophisticated financial capabilities understandable and usable across end-to-end customer workflows. - Skill in identifying product logic gaps, edge cases, dependencies, and the effects of technical or regulatory constraints. - Strong collaboration with product and engineering partners, including through implementation. - Ability to communicate design reasoning, options, and tradeoffs, and to help teams reach sound product decisions.
Nice to have - Experience with institutional financial workflows, complex account structures, transaction lifecycles, permissions, or financial data. - Experience building design systems or reusable patterns across teams. - Familiarity with front-end development workflows, prototyping, or AI tools that support design exploration and iteration.
