Role overview
Contribute to a unified software platform serving thousands of educational organizations and the support personnel who work with them, spanning recruiting and hiring, absence and time management, and special education workflows. The role combines hands-on full-stack engineering with technical leadership, guiding solution design, mentoring peers, and raising the quality bar across the team. It is a senior individual contributor position that partners closely with product owners, strategists, and engineering leads across regions.
Responsibilities
- Provide advice and oversight on solution design and architecture, including scalability and reliability recommendations. - Oversee the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software solutions end to end. - Lead and promote guild activities to spread technical knowledge across the engineering organization. - Construct unit tests over complex algorithms, champion coding standards, and author technical documentation and design sketches at a solution level. - Participate in functional requirements review meetings with the Product Owner, provide high-level project estimates, and drive sprint delivery commitments. - Coach others on time management, draw quieter participants into discussions, and proactively communicate project status to stakeholders and team leadership.
Requirements
- Solid experience with .NET, Angular, and SQL, plus strong understanding of web-based applications and web architecture. - Proficiency in C#, TypeScript, TSQL or PSQL or SQL, command or shell scripting, an ORM such as Entity Framework, and Restful APIs. - Familiarity with behavior-driven development, test automation, asynchronous development in API and web technologies, and the ability to debug code and write unit tests. - Experience creating design sketches, writing requirements, deducing business requirements from existing code, and translating Gherkin into technical implementation. - Willingness to mentor and present in team technical sharing sessions, and flexibility to overlap with European business hours (approximately morning to early afternoon local LATAM time, until around 2 PM BRT / 12 PM COT). - Intermediate+ English level.
Nice to have
- Deep understanding of QA processes, hands-on unit and integration testing, and basics of performance and security testing. - Background working with AI technologies. - Competency in Agile methodology, SaaS and multi-tenant solutions, and Git in a continuous integration environment.
