Senior Full-stack Software Engineer (Java, Quarkus, Angular)

Role overview

Build and improve software for complex financial services systems, with a strong emphasis on backend engineering and work across the application stack when needed. The role spans Java microservices, cloud-based event processing, and Angular interfaces, with attention to performance, resilience, observability, and engineering quality. It is remote and based in Brazil.

Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain production backend applications in Java, focusing on performance, scalability, and maintainability. - Build cloud-native microservices with Quarkus and contribute to frontend features using Angular. - Design event-driven solutions using AWS services including SQS, SNS, Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway. - Improve reliability in distributed systems and implement logging, metrics, and distributed tracing. - Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, automation, and continuous improvements to delivery quality. - Work with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment and use AI-assisted coding tools to support development work.

Requirements

- Strong hands-on Java experience developing production software, plus solid experience with Quarkus and Angular. - Practical AWS experience, particularly with SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, Lambda, and API Gateway. - Experience designing microservices and distributed systems, with an understanding of event-driven and cloud application patterns. - Familiarity with observability practices such as logs, metrics, and traces. - Experience working in Agile or Scrum teams and using AI-powered developer tools. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.

Nice to have

- Reactive programming experience with Mutiny or Project Reactor. - Background in financial markets, investment banking, or financial systems. - Experience building highly scalable, resilient cloud applications.
