Senior/Lead Automation QA Engineer (TypeScript, Playwright)

Role overview Drive the end-to-end quality strategy for a multi-product platform serving the education technology space, where the work spans automated test engineering, CI/CD ownership, and technical leadership. This Senior/Lead-level position blends hands-on framework development with mentorship of junior and mid-level QA engineers and a focus on embedding AI-driven approaches into testing workflows.

Responsibilities - Define and own the quality strategy across multiple products within the project portfolio, standardizing practices across teams. - Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that drive reliable automated test execution at scale. - Build and maintain automated test suites using Playwright and TypeScript, working across multiple automation frameworks. - Perform API testing and validate data integrity using SQL, including designing and executing regression strategies ahead of releases. - Lead Root Cause Analysis for significant defect trends, and provide technical leadership and support to less experienced QA engineers. - Prototype and integrate AI agents and AI-based solutions that improve QA workflows, and contribute QA estimates during Agile ceremonies.

Requirements - Proven experience as a Senior Automation QA Engineer or AQA Lead, with strong hands-on Playwright and TypeScript skills. - Solid experience with API testing, SQL-based data validation, and designing/executing regression strategies. - Familiarity with multiple automation frameworks and CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance. - Leadership, mentoring, and communication skills, with experience working in Agile teams and providing QA estimates. - Interest or experience in AI-assisted QA tools and AI agents for testing workflows. - Flexibility to overlap with European business hours, working morning to early afternoon LATAM time (approximately until 2 PM BRT / 12 PM COT). - Upper-intermediate English or higher.

Nice to have - Experience with Root Cause Analysis and defect trend analysis. - Background standardizing QA practices across multiple teams or projects. - Hands-on experience implementing AI-driven QA solutions.
