Role overview
Develop and support software products as part of an Agile Scrum team, taking requirements from user stories through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement. The role combines hands-on programming with product support, customer issue resolution, code review, technical research, and stakeholder communication. Engineers are expected to contribute collaboratively while taking ownership of assigned deliverables and quality.
Responsibilities
- Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies and collaborate on the design, development, testing, and delivery of software within committed schedules. - Build enhancements, troubleshoot defects, debug existing applications, and help resolve customer-reported software problems. - Analyze requirements associated with user stories and larger initiatives, researching technical approaches and integration challenges. - Contribute to code reviews, quality practices, deployments, and improvements to team development standards. - Learn and integrate new technologies with cloud and product infrastructure, raising risks and complex problems early. - Communicate progress, changes, risks, and proposed solutions to teammates and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or at least five years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination. - Four or more years of professional software development experience using modern programming languages and practices. - Demonstrated ability to deliver customer value quickly while maintaining strong software quality. - Experience with Ruby, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Jasper, and Java. - Familiarity with development tools and workflows such as Git, Jira, pair programming, quality assurance, and deployments. - Strong ownership, communication, collaboration, creativity, adaptability, and commitment to improving team standards.
Nice to have
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or CouchDB. - Familiarity with Agile approaches such as Scrum, Kanban, or Lean.
