Principal AI/ML Engineer

Role overview

Drive the technical direction for AI and ML systems that turn raw clinical data into insights clinicians can act on at the speed of thought. As a principal individual contributor, your work will have direct, visible impact across AI, backend, and frontend, and you will help shape how a rigorous team approaches problems at the frontier of applied clinical AI. You will collaborate closely with clinicians and hospital partners to ground model work in real-world performance rather than benchmarks alone.

Responsibilities

- Set technical direction for AI and ML systems powering clinical data intelligence features - Design, build, and ship models and pipelines that run in production healthcare environments - Collaborate with clinicians and hospital partners to evaluate real-world performance and iterate accordingly - Partner with engineers across AI, backend, and frontend to deliver end-to-end product impact - Push for rigor in evaluation methodology and translate findings into shipped improvements

Requirements

- Principal-level track record of designing, building, and shipping ML systems in production - Deep experience with production AI/ML, including evaluation and iteration on deployed models - Strong software engineering chops across multiple languages and the full stack - Ability to work core Pacific hours and be based in the United States - Genuine interest in clinical AI and an awareness of the constraints of regulated healthcare settings
