Job details
About this role
Role overview Build and run production software for enterprise projects involving generative AI and agentic systems. Working in a small engineering team alongside client engineers and product counterparts, you will own systems through deployment and operation, lead technical decisions for your area, and help turn ambiguous needs into reliable software.
Responsibilities - Design, implement, deploy, and operate production systems, remaining accountable for their behavior after release. - Lead architecture discussions for your part of a system and explain the trade-offs behind technical decisions. - Investigate unclear or difficult problems, communicate risks early, and debug live issues involving performance, concurrency, or data correctness. - Work directly with client engineers and product or project leads to deliver against business requirements. - Contribute to a collaborative delivery rhythm that includes planning, code and design reviews, and retrospectives.
Requirements - Ten or more years designing, building, and maintaining production systems used by real users. - Hands-on experience building and operating generative AI systems in production. - Experience owning software after deployment, including monitoring, on-call or equivalent operational responsibility, and incident debugging. - Strong distributed systems fundamentals, including services, queues, retries, idempotency, failure handling, and third-party API integration. - Experience with database design, query performance, migrations, automated testing, instrumentation, CI/CD, and incremental releases. - Python proficiency, with TypeScript or JavaScript experience; engineers from other languages may qualify if willing to work in Python. - Cloud infrastructure and containerization experience, plus the ability to discuss technical topics clearly with non-engineers.
Benefits and work setup - Full-time, remote role open to candidates in the EU and UK. - Work on one client project in a small team of approximately two to six engineers.
