Role overview
This senior advisory role partners with private equity sponsors, operating partners, and portfolio company executives to shape technology strategy, accelerate growth, and create enterprise value across a national investment portfolio. The position operates as a strategic consultant at the intersection of private equity, M&A, cybersecurity, managed services, and business transformation.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic client engagements from discovery through solution development and transition into delivery, serving as a trusted advisor throughout the relationship lifecycle.
- Facilitate executive discussions with private equity firms, operating partners, investment teams, and portfolio company leadership to understand investment objectives, growth strategies, operational challenges, and value creation priorities.
- Support technology due diligence, risk assessments, acquisitions, integrations, carve-outs, and separation initiatives by evaluating environments, cybersecurity posture, infrastructure maturity, and operational readiness.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear business recommendations and executive-level insights that connect technology investments to measurable outcomes.
- Develop proposals, solution offerings, and executive presentations while contributing to thought leadership content, speaking engagements, and industry discussions.
- Help build and enhance reusable intellectual property including due diligence frameworks, assessment methodologies, service catalogs, playbooks, and pricing models.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, technology, finance, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Seven or more years of client-facing experience in technology consulting, managed services, cybersecurity, IT outsourcing, digital transformation, solutions architecture, presales, or strategic sales.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex pursuits, executive presentations, and strategic client engagements.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to connect technology investments to business outcomes.
- Solid understanding of managed services, cybersecurity, cloud, infrastructure, and technology operations.
- Business and financial acumen covering ROI, operational efficiency, risk mitigation, and value creation principles.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting private equity firms, operating partners, investment teams, or portfolio companies.
- Background in technology due diligence, M&A integration, carve-outs, or separation initiatives.
- Experience within an MSP, MSSP, consulting firm, technology advisory practice, or IT services organization.
- ITIL, cloud, cybersecurity, project management, or related certifications.
Benefits and work setup
- Remote position with standard Monday through Friday business hours and occasional after-hours support for incidents or escalations.
- Base salary range of approximately $120,000 to $130,000 USD plus eligibility for sales commission.
- Occasional travel based on client and business needs.
