Cloud Native Specialist

Role overview A technical specialist position focused on the intersection of platform engineering, Kubernetes, and multi-cloud strategy across the EMEA region. The role partners closely with sales and customer success teams to guide organizations through the complexities of day-2 operations in containerized environments, helping them achieve full-stack observability across dynamic, ephemeral architectures. It is a pre-sales overlay role that blends deep hands-on expertise with executive-level business storytelling.

Responsibilities - Serve as the technical subject matter expert for Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, GKE, OpenShift) and container orchestration, demonstrating automated code-level visibility into microservices without manual instrumentation or sidecar overhead. - Advocate for OpenTelemetry integration and explain how a unified observability platform extends the value of open-source telemetry in production-grade environments. - Lead technical discovery and high-stakes proof of concepts for born-in-the-cloud organizations and legacy enterprises undergoing digital transformation, including building ROI models that quantify reductions in operational overhead. - Support sales positioning against niche cloud-native tools by highlighting AI-driven root cause analysis capabilities. - Design observability-as-code strategies using Terraform, Pulumi, or Crossplane, and consult with customer platform teams on CI/CD pipeline integration (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions) and GitOps workflows (ArgoCD, Flux). - Help customers implement Service Level Objectives and error budgets within their cloud-native stacks to advance SRE maturity, and conduct cloud-native maturity workshops covering automated scaling, pod-level resource optimization, and cost-aware infrastructure management.

Requirements - 5+ years in a technical pre-sales, DevOps, or SRE role, with at least 3 years specifically focused on Kubernetes and containerized workloads. - Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Application Developer (CKAD) preferred, with deep understanding of container runtimes, ingress controllers, and service discovery. - Hands-on experience with service mesh architectures and sidecar patterns. - Expert-level knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP), with a focus on managed Kubernetes and serverless offerings. - Proficiency in Terraform, Helm, and YAML, plus the ability to read or write code in Go, Java, or Node.js for microservices troubleshooting. - Strong business acumen, including the ability to communicate the impact of MTTR and deployment frequency to executive stakeholders, and a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have - Experience with eBPF-based monitoring tools. - Familiarity with FinOps principles linking cloud spend to container performance. - Active participation in the CNCF community or open-source projects.
