Cloud Native Specialist

Role overview A specialized overlay position focused on the intersection of platform engineering, Kubernetes, and multi-cloud strategy. The role partners with global sales and customer success teams to help organizations navigate day-2 operations in containerized environments and achieve full-stack observability across dynamic architectures. The position is based in New York or Boston.

Responsibilities - Serve as the technical subject matter expert for Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, GKE, OpenShift) and container orchestration, demonstrating automated code-level visibility into microservices without manual instrumentation or sidecar overhead. - Lead technical discovery and high-stakes proof-of-concepts targeting cloud-native accounts and legacy enterprises undergoing digital transformation, while building ROI models that quantify reduced operational overhead. - Consult with customer platform teams to integrate observability tooling into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions) and GitOps workflows (ArgoCD, Flux), and design observability-as-code strategies using Terraform, Pulumi, or Crossplane. - Help customers implement Service Level Objectives and error budgets within their cloud-native stacks to advance SRE maturity. - Stay at the forefront of the CNCF landscape, including Service Mesh (Istio, Linkerd), serverless platforms (AWS Lambda, Fargate), and eBPF technologies. - Conduct cloud-native maturity workshops focused on automated scaling, pod-level resource optimization, and cost-aware infrastructure management.

Requirements - 5+ years in a technical pre-sales, DevOps, or SRE role, with at least 3 years specifically focused on Kubernetes and containerized workloads. - Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) preferred, with deep understanding of container runtimes, ingress controllers, and service discovery. - Hands-on experience with service mesh architectures and sidecar patterns. - Expert-level knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP), with a focus on managed Kubernetes and serverless offerings. - Proficiency in Terraform, Helm, and YAML, plus ability to read or write code in Go, Java, or Node.js for microservices troubleshooting. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, plus the ability to explain business impact of MTTR and deployment frequency to executive stakeholders.

Nice to have - Experience with eBPF-based monitoring tools. - Familiarity with FinOps principles matching cloud spend to container performance. - Active participation in the CNCF community or open-source projects.
