AI Product Owner & Delivery Lead – UK
Job details
About this role
Role overview
A global consultancy focused on safety, operational excellence, and sustainability is hiring a senior leader to drive its internal AI agenda. The role sits at the intersection of product ownership and programme delivery, shaping how generative and agentic AI tools are identified, built, and embedded across consulting, operations, and support teams. The successful candidate will translate emerging technologies into measurable efficiency gains and act as a bridge between strategy, technical squads, and day-to-day users.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of AI use cases, from ideation and prioritisation through build, deployment, and adoption. - Serve as product owner for conversational agents and adjacent automation initiatives, ensuring each release delivers clear operational and financial outcomes. - Partner with consulting practices, functional leaders, and engineering teams to map workflows, surface transformation opportunities, and embed AI into existing processes. - Monitor releases from major technology providers and translate relevant capabilities into a prioritised roadmap. - Establish and maintain a framework for measuring AI-driven efficiency, with results that are repeatable and sustainable. - Lead capability building and change management, training colleagues and champions to use new tools confidently. - Contribute to internal and external thought leadership on responsible AI adoption in high-hazard industries.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional AI or digital transformation programmes, ideally within consulting or asset-intensive sectors such as energy, mining, chemicals, or manufacturing. - Working knowledge of machine learning, NLP, computer vision, generative AI, and agentic AI patterns and their practical application. - Ability to map business processes and identify where automation or augmentation will have the strongest impact. - Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), APIs, integration tooling, and ethical AI principles. - Solid track record of agile delivery, including vendor and partner management. - Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills, comfortable engaging both executives and technical specialists. - History of shipping production outcomes rather than only pilots or proofs of concept.
Nice to have
- Exposure to operational risk, safety, or sustainability consulting engagements. - Additional languages beyond English.
Benefits and work setup
- Structured learning pathways and access to a dedicated consulting development programme. - Mentorship from senior practitioners and industry experts. - A collaborative, values-driven culture with opportunities for international project work. - Ideally based in the UK with flexibility for regional engagement. - Hybrid working arrangements typical of a professional services environment.
