Principal Data Architect

Role overview A global manufacturing organization is rebuilding its enterprise architecture practice and is hiring a Principal Data Architect to shape how data, AI, and analytics are adopted across the business. The position sits on a small, highly visible team and works directly with executives, engineering groups, and emerging-technology specialists to drive enterprise-wide transformation.

Responsibilities - Define and drive the enterprise data strategy and multi-year roadmap - Design scalable, cloud-based data architectures, platforms, and integration patterns - Lead Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives and data governance programs - Establish data quality, architecture standards, and trusted governed data products for analytics and AI - Advise C-level and senior stakeholders on enterprise data investments and technology choices - Architect modern solutions using Snowflake, Azure, Oracle, APIs, and streaming technologies

Requirements - 12+ years of experience in data or enterprise architecture roles - 3+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience - Strong expertise with cloud data platforms, Azure preferred - Background with data warehouses, data lakes, MDM, and data governance - Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including executive engagement - Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

Nice to have - AWS experience alongside Azure - AI/ML data platform experience - Cloud or data architecture certifications

Benefits and work setup - Remote or hybrid schedule within the United States; relocation not offered - Annual salary range $152,190 to $186,000, plus eligibility for an annual incentive plan - Comprehensive benefits package including health coverage, 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off, and paid parental leave - Current U.S. work authorization required; visa sponsorship is not available for this role
