Role overview A remote Senior Platform Engineer role building and evolving the foundational software and services that internal product and development teams rely on. This is an individual contributor position focused on coding, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and treating the platform itself as a product. The work spans multicloud environments with a strong emphasis on automation, scalability, and reliability.
Responsibilities - Act as an individual contributor, performing thorough code reviews, mentoring peers, and aligning on a unified technical direction for the platform. - Architect, design, and implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, building reusable modules, applying unit and integration testing, and managing the full infrastructure lifecycle. - Deploy, manage, and optimize Kubernetes clusters on GCP (GKE) and AWS (EKS), including node groups, network policies, service meshes, upgrades, and high-availability tuning. - Develop and maintain CI/CD systems for platform components, integrating tools such as Argo CD or Atlantis and optimizing pipeline performance. - Diagnose and resolve platform incidents involving performance, scalability, and security, contributing to incident response plans and post-mortem analyses. - Build internal tools and APIs that expand self-service platform capabilities and improve developer productivity across the organization. - Implement security best practices, access control, vulnerability management, and compliance with standards such as SOC 2 and GDPR.
Requirements - 6+ years in platform engineering, DevOps engineering, or a closely related role building complex cloud infrastructure. - Hands-on experience with GCP and AWS, Kubernetes (GKE/EKS), and Terraform. - Strong software engineering fundamentals with production coding proficiency in Go, TypeScript, or comparable languages. - Proven experience with CI/CD tools such as Argo CD or Atlantis and deep understanding of pipeline best practices. - Working knowledge of networking concepts and protocols. - Experience with monitoring and logging tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack. - Self-organized, goal-oriented, and effective in a remote, distributed team; strong written and verbal English communication.
Nice to have - Familiarity with service mesh technologies and advanced cluster networking patterns. - Prior experience contributing specifically to platform engineering projects at scale.
