Role overview
Build and operate backend capabilities for a consumer-facing e-commerce application within a product-led growth organization. The role covers the full software lifecycle—from design and implementation through testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support—and emphasizes scalable APIs, maintainable code, engineering quality, and collaborative delivery.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend features, primarily using C# and .NET, with a focus on quality, testability, and maintainability. - Develop and maintain automated tests, participate in code reviews, and work within an Agile Scrum process. - Contribute to CI/CD, version control, and other practices that support reliable software delivery. - Diagnose production-impacting issues, make necessary code changes, and raise delivery risks early. - Set up telemetry and monitoring for production applications and services. - Own backend development for new features and help improve team processes, engineering practices, and technical effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience. - Strong object-oriented design and programming background. - At least 8 years of professional experience building scalable, testable APIs in C#/.NET or Java. - Experience integrating services with both internal and external APIs. - Ability to design reusable, high-performance components for large-scale web applications. - Collaborative approach, with an interest in mentoring, continuous learning, and engineering best practices.
Nice to have
- Experience with GraphQL, NoSQL, Azure or Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, REST, gRPC, and high-performance microservices. - Familiarity with frontend web technologies, SaaS e-commerce, or multichannel web marketing. - Experience designing highly scalable consumer-facing APIs.
