Founding Forward Deployed Engineer

Role overview As an early member of a forward deployed engineering function, turn enterprise learning and development challenges into practical AI-powered workflows. Work directly with strategic customers from discovery through deployment, then translate what you learn into reusable product capabilities while helping establish the team’s technical direction and operating practices.

Responsibilities - Work with customers to map complex learning and development processes and identify high-value opportunities for AI agents. - Design, build, integrate, and deploy custom agents that work with customer systems and the learning platform’s agent capabilities. - Own solutions across discovery, architecture, production rollout, monitoring, and ongoing improvement. - Convert customer needs and implementation insights into scalable platform enhancements. - Establish team playbooks, operating routines, and technical direction as the function grows. - Prototype quickly, test with real usage, and refine solutions based on customer feedback.

Requirements - At least five years building, shipping, and maintaining production full-stack software. - Hands-on experience developing or deploying agentic AI systems or applications powered by large language models in production. - Proficiency with React and TypeScript on the frontend and Next.js and TypeScript on the backend. - Strong systems architecture experience, including distributed systems, AWS, and Kubernetes. - Customer-oriented communication skills and confidence working directly with enterprise stakeholders. - Comfort making decisions and taking end-to-end ownership in ambiguous, fast-changing situations.

Nice to have - Familiarity with GitLab, Datadog, OpenTofu, and tools for coordinating multiple language models.
