Role overview

This graphic design role supports a federal public health program focused on HIV prevention, producing clear and accessible dissemination products that translate complex data into web, social, and print materials. The work helps strengthen nationwide capacity to monitor the HIV epidemic by communicating health information to broad audiences.

Responsibilities

- Write, edit, design, and develop dissemination products including web content, social media materials, fact sheets, and other supporting documents.

- Transform information from multiple data sources into clear, accurate, and engaging visual content.

- Ensure dissemination products are accessible on the web by applying established usability guidelines and Section 508 standards.

- Create visual assets for print, web, and social media marketing, and develop concept art for stakeholder feedback.

- Support multiple health promotion campaigns simultaneously while managing shifting priorities and tight deadlines.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, fine arts, or a closely related discipline.

- At least 2 years of experience using digital design tools such as the Adobe Creative Suite.

- Demonstrated ability to design visual assets for print, web, and social media marketing.

- Ability to develop concept art suitable for stakeholder review and iteration.

- Eligibility to obtain a NAC public trust clearance.

Nice to have

- Experience with HIV prevention promotion or related public health communication.

- Prior experience working with CDC, HHS, or other federal or state health agencies.

- Master's degree in graphic design, fine arts, or a related discipline.

- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time-management skills with the ability to juggle multiple concurrent projects.

Benefits and work setup

- Base salary range of approximately $50,000 to $80,000 USD annually, with final offers based on skills, experience, location, market conditions, and internal equity; potential for additional performance incentives or program-specific awards.

- Remote-first position with occasional in-person meetings, trainings, or team events; candidates must reside within reasonable commuting distance of Atlanta, GA, Chicago, IL, or Washington, DC to support onboarding and periodic administrative or security activities.
