Job details
About this role
Role overview Design mechanical systems and vehicle subsystems for electric vehicle applications, taking concepts through analysis and performance validation. The work combines mechanical engineering fundamentals with electrical integration, and includes guiding other engineers and communicating design progress.
Responsibilities - Develop architectures for critical vehicle systems and subsystems. - Apply mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, and heat transfer to design components and assess their performance with analytical tools. - Create mechanical designs that integrate with electrical systems. - Lead and mentor mechanical engineers. - Present design concepts, test results, and project status to colleagues and leadership.
Requirements - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline. - Experience applying mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, and heat transfer to electric vehicle component design.
Nice to have - Experience producing engineering drawings and design documentation; familiarity with GD&T is useful. - Experience coordinating production work with manufacturers. - Familiarity with finite element, computational fluid dynamics, or thermal analysis tools. - Experience integrating mechanical and electrical systems.
Benefits and work setup - Full-time position based in Fremont, California; remote work may be considered. - Medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k), stock options, and company events are listed.
