Role overview
As a Senior Applied AI Engineer for healthcare and life sciences, you will build a production-ready domain blueprint that turns clinical and regulatory expertise into governed agents and reusable skills. The role requires careful attention to safety, accuracy, evaluation and compliance while working with customer-facing engineering teams to deliver systems into regulated production. This is a full-time role based in London with remote flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Develop healthcare and life-sciences agents, skills, orchestration patterns and knowledge packs. - Encode domain governance, including GxP-aware controls, directly into operational workflows. - Ground agent outputs in clinical and regulatory knowledge using appropriate evaluation approaches. - Establish quality checks that assess factual reliability, safety and compliance—not only demo performance. - Partner with customers and forward-deployed engineering teams during production rollouts. - Refine workflows until they satisfy the required governance and operational standards.
Requirements
- Applied AI or LLM engineering experience with systems that reached production. - Strong software engineering fundamentals and an ability to build dependable services. - Experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals or life sciences is strongly preferred. - A disciplined approach to safety, accuracy, governance and risk. - Practical experience designing or applying evaluation methods for AI systems. - A delivery-oriented mindset suited to shipping robust systems in complex environments.
