Role overview
A senior cloud engineering role focused on designing, operating, and securing the hosting platform behind two global SaaS products operating within a regulated authorization boundary. The position blends hands-on platform engineering with architectural leadership, advancing cloud-native patterns, reliability practices, and progressive delivery across the infrastructure estate. It is well suited to an experienced engineer who can shape technical direction while staying close to the implementation work.
Responsibilities
- Define and champion cloud-native architectural patterns, ensuring consistent adoption across the platform - Lead architecture reviews and serve as the escalation point for complex infrastructure and service issues - Design and maintain a secure, highly available infrastructure platform that meets demanding SLOs and SLA commitments - Advance observability, monitoring, capacity planning, and cloud cost optimization across services - Apply and uphold security and compliance frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2, FedRAMP, and NIST SP 800-53 - Drive infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and progressive delivery practices through the full solution lifecycle
Requirements
- Significant senior-level experience operating large-scale cloud infrastructure, ideally supporting global SaaS workloads - Deep familiarity with cloud-native architecture, container orchestration, and modern delivery practices - Strong background in infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and automation across deployment pipelines - Working knowledge of security and compliance frameworks relevant to regulated SaaS environments - Proven ability to lead design reviews, mentor peers, and foster collaboration and continuous improvement - Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd - Direct experience operating services inside a FedRAMP authorization boundary - Track record building self-service tooling for product engineering teams
