Backend Engineer, Jobs API and MCP

Role overview Build and improve the backend path that lets AI agents submit online-store URLs, track extraction jobs, and receive structured product data. You’ll work across an API, an MCP server, queues, and the services behind them, with a focus on reliable operation as usage grows.

Responsibilities - Design and deliver API and MCP features, including tools and actionable error responses. - Manage queues, retries, timeouts, and rate limits so long-running jobs complete predictably. - Maintain credit and wallet billing logic, covering each charging path with tests. - Add metrics, logs, and dashboards to monitor job completion and cost per page. - Review technical plans and proposed changes for performance and safety.

Requirements - At least four years building production backend services in TypeScript, Python, or Go. - Experience with asynchronous job systems, queues, and SQL databases. - Experience operating services on a cloud platform. - Sound API design judgment, including versioning, idempotency, and understandable errors. - Clear written English.

Nice to have - Experience with edge and serverless services, including Workers, D1, or Durable Objects. - Familiarity with ClickHouse or another column-oriented database. - Previous work on MCP servers, OAuth flows, or developer-facing APIs.
