Role overview
Customer Support Processor responsible for helping resolve release-of-information questions and account issues involving medical-record requests. The work combines phone-based service, written follow-up, accurate documentation, and strict confidentiality in a healthcare information environment.
Responsibilities
- Answer and place business calls while providing professional, accurate, and timely customer service. - Handle release-of-information inquiries received by phone, email, or written correspondence. - Investigate issues, determine appropriate resolutions, and communicate outcomes clearly. - Record calls, inquiries, actions, and resolutions in the required software systems. - Follow department procedures, maintain productivity and quality standards, and protect confidential information. - Communicate promptly with colleagues and managers about problems, complaints, incidents, or process concerns.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution recognized by the relevant education authority. - Friendly, professional communication style and strong customer-service skills. - Experience using a multi-line telephone system. - Computer proficiency, including intermediate or advanced Microsoft Office knowledge; one year of related experience is beneficial. - Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to work accurately at pace. - Ability to complete annual HIPAA training and pass a 90-day release-of-information certification course with a score of at least 85%.
Nice to have
- Experience in data entry, medical records, healthcare, insurance claims processing, or proofreading and document editing.
Benefits and work setup
- Monday–Friday schedule, 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Eastern Time. - The stated estimated base pay range is $15.00–$18.32 USD per hour, depending on location, responsibilities, skills, experience, and other role requirements. - The position is not eligible for employment sponsorship. Post-offer health screenings or vaccination documentation may be required for some assignments.
