Role overview A cloud-based learning technology organization is hiring a new graduate Software Test Developer to join an Agile team building next-generation education platforms. The role focuses on quality engineering across the full software development lifecycle rather than simply executing tests, with hybrid work requiring about three days per week in-office.
Responsibilities - Drive the team's overall quality strategy, embedding quality practices early rather than catching failures at the end - Contribute where most useful: product code, code reviews, automated test design, exploratory testing, or reliability engineering - Collaborate with developers, designers, technical product managers, and a development manager to define, build, and test features - Coach teammates on quality approaches and help build a mature quality culture within the squad - Communicate quality concerns clearly and advocate for end users throughout development - Identify risks and gaps in analysis and test coverage through sound critical thinking
Requirements - Bachelor's degree or diploma in computer science, computer engineering, or a similar technical discipline - Foundational coding ability in one or more languages such as Swift, Objective-C, C#, or Java - Scripting skills in JavaScript, Python, Perl, or PowerShell to support automation and reading production code - Comfort finding defects and design issues across all phases of the software development process - Acumen with artificial intelligence productivity tools - Strong collaboration skills and a high bar for quality, performance, and security
Nice to have - Exposure to designing automated tests and contributing to automation frameworks - Experience creating feedback loops that improve continuous testing - Interest in mentoring others and participating in internal communities of practice, lunch-and-learns, or conferences
