Senior/Staff Software Engineer (Content Processing)

Role overview

Design and operate backend infrastructure that processes large volumes of content for a data-security platform. This hands-on engineering role combines distributed systems work with substantial architectural ownership: improving throughput, resilience, and resource efficiency while evolving core services safely in production.

Responsibilities - Build and evolve distributed backend services and high-throughput processing pipelines. - Design event-driven systems, asynchronous workflows, and coordination mechanisms that remain reliable under load. - Address consistency and failure-handling challenges, including retries, idempotency, deduplication, backpressure, and recovery. - Choose and improve storage, messaging, and processing approaches; investigate bottlenecks in latency, throughput, cost, and resource use. - Modernize existing architecture while maintaining production stability. - Own critical services through design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and operations; guide technical discussions and collaborate across teams.

Requirements - Strong experience building and operating complex production backend systems. - Deep understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, asynchronous processing, consistency, and fault tolerance. - Strong Go proficiency, or comparable backend programming experience and ability to become productive in Go. - Experience designing and operating systems that use messaging technologies such as Kafka, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, or AWS SQS. - Ability to reason about system behavior under load, failure scenarios, and practical architectural trade-offs.
