Product Manager, Self-Serve
Job details
About this role
Role overview
A Product Manager role focused on the self-serve customer journey at a SaaS messaging and automation platform used by thousands of companies to send transactional, behavioral, and marketing communications. The position sits within a self-serve product pod and owns a defined slice of the experience from signup through activation and upgrade, partnering with engineering, design, marketing, and customer experience. It is a data-driven, experimentation-heavy role designed to improve activation, retention, and conversion in a remote, async-first environment.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end product experience of the self-serve journey across signup, onboarding, activation, and upgrade touchpoints. - Identify friction through data, customer insight, and experimentation, then ship improvements that reduce time-to-value. - Define and track success metrics for activation, retention, and monetization. - Run A/B tests and growth experiments to surface what drives conversion and engagement. - Collaborate with engineering to scope and ship changes, and partner with marketing, CX, and design to keep the journey consistent across touchpoints. - Communicate priorities, tradeoffs, and progress clearly across teams and leadership.
Requirements
- 3+ years of product management experience in SaaS, ideally with self-serve or product-led growth exposure. - Hands-on experience using or developing AI-powered tooling within a product workflow. - A track record of improving activation or retention metrics. - Strong analytical and experimentation skills — data-informed decision-making balanced with comfort in ambiguity. - Experience collaborating across product, marketing, and customer experience functions. - Clear communicator who simplifies complexity and drives alignment. - Comfort working autonomously in a remote, async-first environment.
Nice to have
- Deep curiosity about what helps customers succeed, with a customer-empathy mindset that digs past surface-level dashboard signals.
Benefits and work setup
- Starting salary range of $137k–$156k USD (or local-currency equivalent), with geographic zone-based adjustments up to roughly $164k–$187k. - 100% coverage of medical, dental, vision, mental health, and supplemental insurance premiums for employees and their families. - 16 weeks of paid parental leave and unlimited PTO. - Stipends for remote work and wellness, plus a professional development budget. - Fully remote, async-first work environment with structured hiring stages including recruiter screen, hiring manager interview, engineering case discussion, and panel case review.
