Senior Technical Product Owner– Retail Performance Engine
Job details
About this role
Role overview Own the day-to-day product delivery process for a retail performance platform, partnering with a Product Manager and technical team to move stakeholder needs from discovery through release. The role combines backlog management, requirements clarification, release coordination, and customer communication, with accountability for trade-offs among scope, quality, and timing.
Responsibilities - Prioritize and maintain the product backlog in Azure DevOps, break epics into actionable user stories, define acceptance criteria, plan sprints, and review completed work. - Lead discovery and kickoff sessions; clarify business needs, dependencies, overlaps with existing systems, data and file-feed requirements, and unresolved questions. - Triage requests and support issues from customers, client-facing teams, and internal stakeholders, converting them into appropriately prioritized stories, bugs, or investigation work. - Coordinate releases, code-freeze periods, release notes, deployment updates, and stakeholder communications before and after launch. - Share progress and risks, raise blockers early, and give leadership clear information to support decisions. - Work with product leadership on goals and roadmap priorities; coordinate work across related products and teams, improve delivery practices, and mentor less experienced Product Owners.
Requirements - Six or more years of relevant experience, including at least four years working in Agile or software development life cycles and three years managing product backlogs or roadmaps. - Experience working with large development teams and with APIs, web services, and data integrations. - Ability to draw clear requirements and decisions from ambiguous or incomplete requests, and to communicate technical constraints in accessible terms. - Strong written and verbal communication, follow-through, decision documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills. - Comfort working with distributed teams and coordinating across time zones. - A college or university degree, or equivalent experience.
Nice to have - Experience in financial services, loyalty or rewards, or other data-driven products. - Azure DevOps experience and certifications such as SAFe, Pragmatic, CPO, CSPO, PSPO, or Microsoft Azure credentials. - Familiarity with modernization initiatives involving APIs, AI, services, or cloud platforms.
Benefits and work setup - Eligible for incentive awards tied to individual and business performance, along with a comprehensive benefits package. - Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
