About this role
Role overview
Own the strategy and delivery of digital products that support an education business, including the learner journey, course enrollment, content creation and delivery, learning platforms, and credentials. This is a hands-on product leadership role that turns the needs of learners, instructors, and education teams into a roadmap, working across functions and navigating an established mix of internal systems and vendor tools.
Responsibilities
- Set the product vision, roadmap, goals, and success measures, using customer research, analytics, and business evidence to guide priorities. - Lead work from discovery and validation through development, launch, adoption, and ongoing improvement. - Shape enrollment, learning, content, and credentialing experiences, including connections among existing platforms. - Assess whether to build, buy, modernize, or replace systems, weighing user needs, dependencies, migration effort, and long-term value. - Improve measurement of enrollment, completion, conversion, retention, and revenue; use experiments to refine growth and product decisions. - Align education leaders and teams across engineering, design, marketing, and operations; communicate trade-offs, progress, risks, and outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. - At least seven years of product management experience for a senior-level candidate, or ten years for principal level, including substantial digital product or platform ownership. - Experience in education technology, online learning, certification, credentialing, learner growth, or product growth across acquisition, activation, conversion, and retention. - Strong product judgment and ability to prioritize in resource-constrained settings, clarify the real problem, and make difficult trade-offs. - Experience working closely with engineering, design, and senior business stakeholders; strong communication and executive presentation skills. - Comfort with legacy systems, vendor integrations, incomplete data, and changing plans; fluency with modern AI tools to support product work.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with learning standards, localization, registration and payment flows, or membership-based education. - Experience with lifecycle marketing or personalization tools, and with consumer, business, marketplace, subscription, fitness, or community products.
