Software Engineer, Stream Integrations

Role overview Build integrations that move data between a real-time stream processing platform and third-party systems. The work combines research and software development: engineers investigate how external technologies behave, then create reliable components that help customers collect and route large volumes of operational and security data. This is a remote role with participation in an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities - Develop integrations with data systems such as search and analytics platforms, message brokers, and cloud object storage. - Set up and configure external systems and accounts to support research, development, and testing. - Design, implement, and maintain clear, robust code, primarily using Node.js and TypeScript, with occasional work in C++. - Create test plans and automated unit and integration tests to verify features. - Work with engineering, product, design, and business colleagues to turn specifications into working features. - Review peers’ designs and code, contribute to documentation and community materials, and take part in a 24/7 support rotation that may include off-hours coverage.

Requirements - Experience integrating third-party applications, libraries, or APIs. - Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems. - Experience using and building REST APIs and working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. - Comfort researching unfamiliar technologies before implementation and building reliable systems when requirements are uncertain. - Familiarity with iterative development practices and a strong sense of ownership for quality and performance. - Clear communication skills, including explaining technical topics to internal and external audiences in distributed teams.

Nice to have - Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, LDAP, or SAML for authentication and authorization.
