AI / ML Developer

Role overview Improve AI-powered legal research workflows involving retrieval, document understanding, judgment summaries, and citation checks. The role combines practical machine learning or large language model development with product iteration, turning open-ended research problems into measurable improvements for users.

Responsibilities - Develop retrieval and document-understanding capabilities for legal research. - Work on judgment summarisation and citation-checking workflows. - Build and refine LLM or machine learning pipelines. - Evaluate retrieval, vector search, and model outputs to guide improvements. - Translate ambiguous research tasks into measurable product outcomes. - Iterate on prompts and models, including efforts to reduce unsupported outputs.

Requirements - Strong Python skills. - Practical experience with LLM or machine learning pipelines. - Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation and vector search. - Experience evaluating model or pipeline quality. - Ability to define useful measures for product improvements and iterate against them.

Nice to have - Experience with Indic natural language processing. - Exposure to legal-domain AI or techniques for mitigating hallucinations.
