Job details
About this role
Role overview Help improve software quality by testing new features, finding defects, and checking that transactions, balances, and messages behave as expected. You’ll work with engineers across web applications, dashboards, and USSD and WhatsApp flows, using designated test environments. This is an early-career internship with a stated commitment of 10–20 hours per week; Ghana-based applicants are preferred.
Responsibilities - Turn product requirements and acceptance criteria into test cases and checklists. - Manually test web, mobile, USSD, and WhatsApp user journeys. - Probe edge cases such as failed payments, timeouts, duplicate submissions, and invalid inputs. - Write reproducible bug reports, verify fixes, and run regression checks before releases. - Help develop automated tests for APIs and user interfaces. - Check behavior across devices, browsers, and network conditions.
Requirements - Basic understanding of web applications and APIs. - Careful, methodical approach and strong attention to detail. - Clear written communication for documenting defects. - Familiarity with Git or readiness to learn it. - Curiosity about how software fails and how to prevent repeat problems.
Nice to have - Experience or familiarity with Postman, Playwright, Cypress, Jest, JavaScript, mobile testing, or test management tools.
Benefits and work setup - Remote-first, flexible arrangement with practical experience in a software team’s release process. - Guidance, feedback, professional development, and cross-functional collaboration. - A certificate or reference letter may be available after successful completion, subject to performance. - Internship duration and engagement terms are agreed at onboarding. Testing is restricted to approved test environments, not live accounts or real customer funds.
