About this role
Role overview Lead the team building cloud execution environments and the services that connect developer workflows to AI and high-performance computing resources. You’ll guide work across isolated GPU-enabled containers, job submission, compute orchestration, and scheduler integrations, with responsibility for delivery and production reliability.
Responsibilities - Shape the team roadmap with product partners, balancing customer needs, delivery commitments, technical debt, and reliability. - Unblock engineers on cross-team dependencies and guide architecture decisions spanning containers, distributed authentication, and billing infrastructure. - Own outcomes across the product lifecycle, from early planning through launch and ongoing production support. - Stay close to how machine-learning practitioners use the tools and bring their needs into prioritization decisions. - Develop engineers into autonomous technical leaders and foster strong engineering practices, including effective use of AI coding tools. - Maintain technical fluency in incidents and design discussions, stepping in hands-on when the team needs support.
Requirements - At least 3 years of engineering management experience delivering infrastructure or platform products. - At least 5 years of prior software engineering experience, with backend systems depth. - Technical fluency in Go, Python, and Kubernetes sufficient to review changes and guide architecture and incident response. - Experience managing production distributed systems and balancing feature delivery with reliability, on-call needs, and technical health. - Strong partnership with product managers on roadmap planning, plus a track record of developing engineers at different levels. - Clear communication and comfort making decisions in ambiguous product areas.
Nice to have - Experience with machine-learning infrastructure, developer tools, compute orchestration, job scheduling, or container isolation. - Background in HPC or scientific computing, billing or usage-based systems, early-stage product building, or guiding a team through a product transition.
Benefits and work setup - US full-time benefits described include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, flexible spending and health savings accounts, tuition reimbursement, stock purchase plan participation, mental wellness and family support, paid parental leave, childcare support, a 401(k) match, and flexible paid time off.
