Lead Product Designer (6 Month Contract Role)

Role overview Lead product design for digital customer experiences at a large restaurant business on a six-month contract. You’ll guide complex work across customer journeys and channels, from defining the problem through implementation, combining customer needs, business goals, research, and technical constraints into experiences teams can deliver. The role provides senior design leadership through influence and collaboration, without formal people-management responsibility.

Responsibilities - Lead design for features and journeys across apps, websites, kiosks, loyalty, and related digital channels. - Frame problems and develop user flows, interaction designs, prototypes, detailed designs, and validated solutions. - Partner with product and engineering teams on requirements, priorities, tradeoffs, and delivery. - Use research, analytics, usability testing, and customer feedback to identify opportunities and evaluate designs. - Apply and improve design-system patterns to support consistency and accessibility. - Facilitate critiques and cross-functional sessions, explain design decisions, and work with engineers on design quality during implementation. - Offer design direction and mentorship to other designers as needed.

Requirements - Demonstrated experience leading design for complex digital products or connected customer journeys. - A portfolio showing product thinking, interaction and systems design, visual craft, and measurable outcomes. - Advanced skills in Figma, prototyping, interaction design, information architecture, accessibility, and design systems. - Ability to work independently through ambiguity and align cross-functional stakeholders. - Strong understanding of customer research and data-informed design. - Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Nice to have Experience with restaurant, retail, commerce, loyalty, marketplace, or similarly complex consumer products.

Benefits and work setup Six-month contract role. The listed rate is $90–$100 per hour.
