Role overview
Serve as the technical lead in customer-facing sales engagements for an enterprise AI platform that helps organizations search, summarize, and reason over unstructured information while preserving permissions and governance. This is a consultative, pre-sales architecture role: partner with sales colleagues to shape solutions, demonstrate value, and establish a credible technical path from initial proof to broader adoption.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery, solution design, product demonstrations, and proof-of-value work in partnership with account teams. - Advise customer executives and technical teams on data architecture, retrieval-augmented generation, deployment choices, and associated risks. - Design enterprise AI solutions and reference architectures that connect customer data with security and data management capabilities. - Run workshops, pilots, and proofs of concept, defining meaningful success criteria and next steps for regulated use cases. - Create account-specific architecture diagrams, technical narratives, and business cases. - Collaborate with AI infrastructure and cloud partners, and bring customer and deal feedback to product and engineering teams.
Requirements
- Seven or more years in solutions architecture, pre-sales or sales engineering, or technical consulting, including enterprise sales support. - Practical experience designing and deploying generative AI systems, including large language models, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation, vector stores, and orchestration frameworks. - Ability to explain technical tradeoffs and connect architecture choices to business value for both executive and technical audiences.
Benefits and work setup
The role is field-based on the East Coast, with regular North American travel for customer work and periodic travel to company offices and events. The listed pay range is $282,400–$353,000; the posting notes possible bonus, commission, or equity eligibility, along with health and wellness benefits, vacation, paid holidays, retirement savings, and insurance coverage.
