Software Engineer – Legacy Modernization & Full Stack

Role overview Help move legacy business applications toward maintainable web systems while continuing to support existing functionality. The work combines full-stack development, data migration, integrations, and legacy troubleshooting, with projects that may include Delphi and Zoho systems. You’ll collaborate with senior engineers and business partners to deliver tested solutions and take ownership of assigned work.

Responsibilities - Migrate legacy application features into modern web architectures and improve existing systems during the transition. - Build frontend features and backend services using React and Python, preferably with Django. - Support business applications and automate workflows where needed, including custom functions in Deluge. - Develop and consume REST APIs and webhooks that connect legacy systems, services, databases, and third-party platforms. - Write and optimize SQL, assist with data migration and validation, and maintain data integrity. - Use AI-assisted development tools to understand code, implement and validate changes, troubleshoot, and improve engineering workflows. - Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders, following Git, code review, testing, documentation, and CI/CD practices.

Requirements - Around two to four years of professional software development experience in full-stack work, legacy maintenance, integrations, or modernization. - Hands-on Python experience, preferably with Django, and modern JavaScript or TypeScript; strong SQL skills. - Experience maintaining, refactoring, migrating, or modernizing legacy applications. - Understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, and relational databases; Microsoft SQL Server is particularly relevant. - Familiarity with Git, code reviews, and CI/CD, plus a proactive approach to applying AI tools in development.

Nice to have - React experience; Azure experience is preferred, while AWS or GCP experience is also useful. - Familiarity with Delphi, Zoho applications, Deluge scripting, or workflow automation. These are optional for candidates with relevant modernization experience.
