About this role
Role overview
Own and improve the end-to-end experience for participants in a growing, year-long national fellowship, from accepting an offer through completing the program. You will set direction for this program area and run its day-to-day work, then adapt your scope as the broader program expands. The work combines participant communications, onboarding, community building, event delivery, and systems design.
Responsibilities - Take ownership of participant communications and map the journey from offer to the first day, identifying gaps and setting a clear onboarding plan. - Coordinate updates about placements and relocation, and guide participants through key transitions. - Plan and run a week-long cohort kickoff with event, curriculum, and external vendor partners, including the schedule and attendee experience. - Create a support model that can serve a large and growing cohort using self-service resources, AI-supported responses, and clear escalation paths. - Establish community routines and peer connections that can operate without constant individual coordination. - Track engagement, satisfaction, and retention; document effective practices and share progress with program leadership and partners.
Requirements - Seven or more years in program management, including end-to-end ownership of a cohort program, fellowship, or member community. - Experience setting the direction for a program area and making trade-offs tied to measurable outcomes. - A practical approach to managing many changing workstreams, including learning from missed commitments and improving the process. - Experience turning manual work into repeatable systems, and hands-on daily use of AI tools. - Clear, warm writing and the ability to adjust communication for participants, executives, and partners. - Availability for several multi-day trips each year, including events in February and late summer 2027.
Nice to have - Experience in participant communications, community building, or large in-person events managed with an outside agency. - Background in fellowships, service programs, early-career talent initiatives, education, nonprofit work, or a fast-growing startup. - Experience supporting people through relocation or another major transition.
Benefits and work setup - Full-time, remote work from anywhere in the U.S., with regular travel for in-person events. - Published salary range: $130,000–$155,000. - Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance with 90% of premiums covered for employees and dependents, retirement and disability coverage, generous paid time off, holidays, 10 weeks of paid parental leave, a year-end closure, professional development funding, and home office support.
