Health IT Analyst

Role overview This Health IT Business Analyst role delivers Power BI development and informatics guidance to a federal health agency, supporting analytics across clinical and research data environments. The position partners with organizational leadership to shape information management practices, requirements gathering, and reporting workflows. It blends hands-on technical work with stakeholder advisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities - Develop SQL queries, SSRS reports, Tableau dashboards, and automated communications to meet stakeholder requirements - Manage Tableau Server configuration, including users, groups, schedules, data sources, and extracts - Migrate existing Tableau dashboards to Power BI, translating calculations, filters, parameters, data relationships, and visualizations - Author Power BI reports, data models, and supporting SQL logic aligned with business requirements - Validate Power BI outputs against source data and existing Tableau reports - Elicit requirements, design validation protocols, and support user acceptance testing

Requirements - Bachelor's degree plus five years of SQL experience and three years of Power BI development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience - Hands-on experience with healthcare or clinical data - Background developing enterprise-level BI and reporting environments - Proficiency with Tableau calculations, data models, and dashboards - Working knowledge of Power BI Service, including workspaces, gateways, data refreshes, deployment, and row-level security - Ability to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance

Benefits and work setup The estimated pay range for this role is $95,000–$98,000, contingent on location, skillset, and experience.
