Senior Platform / DevOps Engineer (Symfony / Ansible)

Role overview

Own substantial parts of a production platform that supports a large fleet of hosted business application instances. This senior role spans infrastructure automation, Linux operations, and backend development in a Symfony control plane, with responsibility for investigating and resolving escalated production issues.

Responsibilities

- Build and maintain Ansible automation for server provisioning, deployments, scaling, backups, and restores. - Operate Linux production systems, including performance tuning, scaling, failover, and replication. - Develop features in a Symfony-based control plane. - Investigate cross-layer problems involving application code, databases, and infrastructure, and handle escalated incidents. - Contribute to architecture decisions and document technical proposals, incidents, and operational practices.

Requirements

- Experience in platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure-heavy backend development. - Strong PHP and Symfony expertise, along with production Linux administration experience. - Hands-on experience with Ansible and infrastructure automation. - Experience tuning PostgreSQL and Nginx, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. - Ability to use Python for tooling and diagnose issues across application, database, and infrastructure layers. - Strong written communication for documentation, incident analysis, and technical proposals.
