Sr. Software Developer – Application Migration & Modernization ( 102-08SENG-01)

Role overview Modernize aging .NET applications and migrate their Oracle data tiers to PostgreSQL while keeping production systems available and preserving existing behavior. The work spans application changes, database conversion, testing, deployment, and technical discovery; AI coding agents are part of the delivery workflow, with engineers responsible for validating their output.

Responsibilities - Assess legacy application dependencies, integrations, and data access patterns, then plan migration steps and risks. - Update application code to work with PostgreSQL, including older ADO.NET and Entity Framework data access layers. - Convert Oracle schemas, stored procedures, and queries to PostgreSQL equivalents; address differences in types, collations, and performance. - Create characterization, integration, and comparison tests to check that the migrated system preserves expected behavior. - Use AI agents to support codebase discovery, test generation, code translation, and review, validating results with engineering judgment. - Coordinate with architects, database specialists, and product stakeholders; document decisions and contribute to deployment automation and observability.

Requirements - Strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET Framework applications, including legacy codebases. - Practical PostgreSQL experience, including schema design, query tuning, execution plans, and transaction behavior. - Oracle experience sufficient to understand PL/SQL, packages, procedures, triggers, and sequences. - Experience using AI coding agents in real delivery work, such as discovery, test creation, or code translation. - Familiarity with Git-based workflows and CI/CD, plus clear communication when requirements are incomplete.
