About this role
Role overview Own the end-to-end strategy, execution, and business outcomes for a collections squad operating at the intersection of credit risk, finance operations, and customer experience. The focus is recovering what's owed compliantly and efficiently across core Latin American markets without compromising customer trust.
Responsibilities - Drive discovery, prioritization, and outcomes across recovery rates, days-to-resolution, roll rates, and operational cost. - Meet weekly with internal finance and collections teams to surface friction, automate manual workflows, and improve operational tooling. - Design and iterate collections journeys spanning automated early-stage nudges, digital payment flows, late-stage escalation paths, and external agency handoffs. - Manage delinquent portfolio tools, early delinquency signals, and regulatory compliance across Mexico, Colombia, and Brazil. - Prototype product concepts before committing engineering capacity, occasionally contributing configuration, feature flags, copy, or analytics instrumentation through standard GitHub PRs. - Collaborate with engineering to maintain high uptime, system reliability, and rapid recovery processes.
Requirements - 5+ years in product management, with at least 2 years owning a credit, collections, or risk-adjacent product within a fintech, bank, or lender. - Proven track record of moving core business metrics and taking ownership from discovery through execution. - Technical fluency with web architecture (APIs, services, databases, message queuing) and confidence with branches, commits, and pull requests. - Hands-on experience writing queries, designing experiments, and running cohort analysis in SQL. - Excellent written and verbal communication, with success aligning technical and non-technical partners. - Working proficiency in English, plus adaptability, high agency, and a bias toward action in fast-changing environments.
Nice to have - Basic proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese, or willingness to learn. - Cross-border experience across Mexico, Colombia, and Brazil, including local payment gateways, external collections integrations, or debt recovery regulations. - Independent analytical skills with spreadsheets, SQL, or Python to build custom dashboards and run deep-dive analyses.
Benefits and work setup - Hybrid working model across office and home, with no fixed minimum office days beyond natural collaboration. - Competitive compensation, stock options from day one, and an annual learning budget.
