Senior Staff Software Engineer

Role overview

This is a senior individual contributor role focused on designing and delivering internal platforms that serve enterprise infrastructure and operations teams. The engineer will operate as a technical leader, owning systems end-to-end from architecture through production operations, and influencing design decisions across backend services, data pipelines, and user-facing applications. The position suits someone who thrives in ambiguity, works independently, and wants to drive high-impact solutions within a global engineering organization.

Responsibilities

- Architect, build, and own full-stack software platforms that support infrastructure and operations teams across the business. - Lead the technical design of systems that ingest, process, analyze, and expose large-scale infrastructure and operational data. - Develop backend services and APIs for data collection, enrichment, and querying. - Build and maintain web interfaces with advanced search, filtering, and usability tailored for technical users. - Design and implement ETL and data processing pipelines for structured and semi-structured data sources. - Ensure applications are containerized and production-ready using Docker and Kubernetes-based deployment models. - Act as a technical authority on system design, performance, reliability, and maintainability, and review designs and code across the team. - Collaborate with platform, infrastructure, security, and product stakeholders, set engineering standards, and proactively reduce technical debt.

Requirements

- Background as a Staff or Senior Full Stack Software Engineer working on complex, production systems, typically with 10+ years of professional experience and demonstrated ownership of large or critical systems. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - Strong backend engineering experience, including API design and data-intensive services, plus solid SQL skills and experience with relational databases. - Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as C#, Python, Go, or Java. - Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized application delivery, plus a solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals and cloud-native application design. - Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern software development workflows, with excellent technical judgment and the ability to influence without authority.

Nice to have

- Experience designing and operating systems on Kubernetes. - Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar relational databases. - Experience with ETL pipelines, analytics platforms, or operational data tooling. - Exposure to cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS. - Background building internal platforms or tools for infrastructure, SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering teams. - Understanding of observability, cost optimization, reliability engineering, or infrastructure automation.
