Remote job
Staff Software Engineer, Delivery Engineering
Job details
About this role
Role overview
Help shape how engineering teams plan, build, review, and measure software as AI agents take on more development work. This staff-level role sits within a small, senior delivery engineering group that builds shared developer tools and practices, with responsibility for adoption and measurable outcomes across teams. Candidates may be based in Europe or the Eastern time zone.
Responsibilities
- Define and improve the end-to-end agent-assisted software development lifecycle, from identifying work through delivery and outcome measurement. - Build and support shared developer platforms and tools, and drive their practical adoption across engineering teams. - Learn how teams work, identify bottlenecks, and shape tools and standards around their real needs. - Measure agent usage and impact on throughput and quality, treating cost, model choice, and reliability as design factors. - Evaluate models, vendors, and open-source tools, making informed build-or-buy recommendations. - Lead technical discussions, write design documents, and mentor engineers adopting agentic workflows.
Requirements
- Direct experience leading an initiative that changed how an engineering organization builds software with AI agents, including measuring outcomes and driving adoption. - Hands-on experience with coding agents, agent harnesses, MCP, and skills or prompt design; ability to evaluate outputs and model and token costs. - Experience building and supporting internal platforms or developer tools used by other engineers. - Strong production backend engineering experience in Go, including API design, data modeling, and service integration. - At least eight years of production engineering experience, with technical decisions and delivery responsibility spanning multiple teams. - A user-centered approach to gathering team needs, documenting tradeoffs, and bringing colleagues along.
